Invisalign® Instructions
- Wearing Schedule:
- Wear your aligners for 20-22 hours per day, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss.
- Change to the next set of aligners using the dates on the packaging provided, typically every 1-2 weeks.
- Cleaning:
- Brush your aligners with a toothbrush at least twice per day, alternatively soak them in an ultrasonic cleaning pod using distilled water.
- Always brush your teeth and aligners before reinserting them after eating.
- Storage and Safety:
- Keep your aligners in their case when not in use to prevent loss or damage.
- Avoid placing aligners where pets can reach them, as they may chew on them.
- Eating and Drinking:
- Remove aligners before eating or drinking anything other than water.
- With Invisalign, you don’t have to restrict your diet as you can remove the aligners before eating.
-
Lost or Broken Aligner:
- If you’ve lost your last Invisalign aligner, don’t panic. Contact our office immediately. Dr. Gosalia can advise you on whether to move to the next set early or use your previous aligner as a temporary backup while a replacement is made. You can also text Dr. Gosalia at (603) 325-2819 if you lost your aligners outside of office hours.
-
Aligner Feels Rough or Sharp:
- Use a pair of cuticle scissors or nail clipper followed by an emory board to smooth out any edges – watch the video below:
